The book
Learning Linux on a Framework Laptop
A beginner-first Arch Linux build, from firmware to a fully custom desktop.
The book follows one real build on a Framework Laptop 13 Pro: an encrypted Btrfs base system, then Hyprland, then a desktop shell written from scratch in QML, Groma, one surface at a time. Every command was run on that machine and every output is what it printed; failures stay in, because they teach more than the working version does.
Written by Claude and reviewed by me, one chapter at a time. Chapter 1 so far: 1 of its 26 sections.
